Our History and Reputation
By now, if you've read the rest of the Dilmaghani website, you know our Company began operations in NYC in 1921 as a manufacturer / importer / nationwide distributor of Oriental rugs and is owned and operated by the son of the founder. The Company has, thru all those years, maintained the highest standards and is respected countrywide by members of the rug industry, many of which are also long time family owned rug businesses. The Dilmaghani Wholesale Division sells to rug retailers, furniture and home furnishing stores.
Dilmaghani is also a trusted retail Company, with generational retail customers as well.
NO BETTER PRICES ANYWHERE! And the price is the price!
In recent decades, the rug trade, like other retail businesses, has changed.
New storefront operations often go into business with plans of "going out of business"! Traveling auctions and so called "estate sales" take place in churches, hotels, and Elk's clubs. Goods in these sales are often mis-represented. Even reputable department stores advertise unbelievable sales and discounts! Elsewhere on the site, you can read about the pitfalls such events present.
When you visit Dilmaghani's Brewster Flying Carpet Warehouse Outlet
you'll see one tag on the rug… the SALE price. Sometimes there may be a tag showing our original retail price. But there are no games to play, "take 70% off, deduct another 30%, and then 10%", etc -- no unreal, inflated original prices to allow for ridiculous, unreal discounts. Our SALE price is actually lower than the LOWEST price of rugs you'll see elsewhere, even when they "inflate and reduce" the prices.
WHAT YOU'LL FIND
The warehouse contains a huge inventory available for weekend customers, including Wholesale Overstock and Closeouts. Most are hand knotted ORIENTAL RUGS. Most everything is new, some old or used. There are some machine made area rug closeouts (mostly in the 5 x 7 thru 6x9 range) and some broadloom remnant rolls. You'll find needlepoints, dhurries, tufted rugs, Oriental rug runners, "Oriental design" runners (machine made) for hallways. Many bargains! Overall, the finer Oriental rugs are in the Scarsdale showroom, but there are treasures at the outlet, too!

For insurance reasons, children are not permitted in the Warehouse.
Please do not inconvenience yourselves by making this a family outing!
The Warehouse is a Self-service operation. Many rugs are hanging. For the rugs on the rolling platforms, you'll want to look thru the corners. Staff is available for questions and to offer assistance. We have people who can help to turn the rugs if you wish or can remove the rug from the pile, when you’ve narrowed your selection to an either/or decision.
Remember, the best way to decorate is to start with a beautiful Dilmaghani rug!
If you already have the room decorated, come with room measurements, floor plans,
fabric swatches, wall and floor colors.
Be sure to bring room measurements!
Typical rectangular rug sizes are:
4'x6', 5'x8', 6'x9', 8'x10', 9'x12', 10'x14', 12'x15', 12'x18', 12'x20'. In between sizes are possible , but generally harder to find.
We have rounds, runners, and some unusual sizes as well.
What size rug fits best?
We suggest you put a template on the floor of the room to determine your size. The template can be as simple as the sunday paper laid out in the size of your intended rug! For dining rooms, be sure to allow for the space needed to have the chair come away from the table and still remain on the rug! Check for door swings, to be sure they will accommodate a rug. Allow for space around the rug to frame it on your beautiful wood floor. Rugs can go under furniture or in front of it. You decide!

We welcome designers to the Warehouse.
We have many designer customers who visit our Warehouse regularly. Please, understand however, as per our Warehouse policy, we cannot accommodate designers with a customary "designer discount" due to our very low Warehouse prices. Our Scarsdale Showroom offers full designer services and we invite designers to visit our Scarsdale location for many items specially for designers.
Our prices cannot be beat for the qualities we represent!
Most who come to the Warehouse leave with rugs and a big Smile!
